A life in jewelry
Born and raised in Kansas City, I caught the jewelry bug in 1998 while working for a large guild jeweler in Oak Park Mall.
Although I never anticipated being in this industry as a career, jewelry gets in your soul, and never leaves.
After a decade of managing stores and teams all over the country, the opportunity to work for a family owned jeweler where I was myself mentored on the appraisal process. Appraising thousands of items for insurance, estate settlement, and liquidations.
Next, I spent 4 years as a sales rep, which taught me a tremendous amount about how jewelry and timepieces end up in the retail stores.
But, working with customers and jewelry professionals drew me back to stores.
A wonderful opportunity came along for me to personally coach and train hundreds, if not thousands, of new jewelry professionals in the Pacific Northwest. Three years of seeing growth and success buoys the soul!!
In 2022 I finished my journey (23 years) to become a Graduate Gemologist.
I started Miles Jewelry Appraisal & Co. in May of 2022 with the explicit goal of serving clients with the best information possible on their precious jewelry and timepieces.
Since May of 2022 I’ve appraised over 3000 items.
I very much look forward to meeting you and your family’s precious heirlooms!
